INTRODUCTION
The job of looking for a job will likely be one of the hardest jobs
you will ever have. Typically, it takes a serious commitment of
your time and energy to get the best available job. You need a high
level of motivation and determination to remain confident in the
face of frustration and disappointment. Like any job that is well
done, you need to:
1. Set goals about the type of job you want
2. Develop a game plan to best accomplish the goals
3. Collect the needed tools to accomplish the goals and to monitor
progress.
To best maintain an active pace, you will need to motivate yourself
to get going and keep going in the job search. Assuming that you
have clearly defined what you want and the direction you want to go,
your key task will be to cope with the emotional ups and downs of
the job search. A few ways to generate and sustain motivation are:
1. Keeping records of favorable feedback (Use Database).
2. Having a positive mental image of your goal.
3. Forming a support group.
4. Maintaining a successful search plan.
These steps can play a valuable role in maintaining a positive
emotional attitude and successfully completing your job search.
They are covered more thoroughly in the remainder of this section.
It is helpful if you write a description of yourself in the job you
want, a job that is satisfying and in surroundings that you would be
happy in. Be specific; paint a verbal picture of you and your new
career.
The next step is to print the different job forms from the "Print
forms for job search" from the submenu.
